Bio-Data

Capt. A. Nagaraj Subbarao is a Master Mariner with a specialization in Dredging Technology and followed it up with a MBA in Human Resource Management.
Capt. Nagaraj started his career with the Dredging Corporation of India and has worked with international marine construction and harbor firms like Van Oord, in command of highly specialized and state of the art ships.
Capt. Nagaraj has worked on internationally acclaimed marine engineering projects like the ‘Palm Islands’ and the ‘World’, off the Dubai Coast. Capt. Nagaraj has also been a Marine & Dredging Consultant in areas of ship inspection, ship repairs and training and development before turning to academics.
Capt. Nagaraj, has wide international experience in areas of Human Resource Management and besides being a navigator and sea captain, has also dealt widely with various aspects of ship administration, marine security and safety, both on and off ships, as part of the International Ship and Port Security Code. Capt. Nagaraj is also a certified internal auditor for the Safety Management System (SMS) of the International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention. Capt. Nagaraj has also been actively involved in training and development of ship board crews in various aspects of marine life.
Capt. Nagaraj is also certified in Advanced Fire Fighting, First Aid, Marine Communication Procedures and Ship Security.
Capt. Nagaraj, on invitation, prepared & submitted a report to the DG (Shipping), on manpower requirements in the Dredging Industry in India and has lobbied for recognizing India as a talent pool for the world wide Dredging Industry.
