EDWIN CASTELINO
Bio-Data
Prof. Edwin is a PGDM from IIM Ahmedabad. Prof. Edwin has also done an advanced management program from the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania.
Prof. Edwin has over 25 years of work experience in the area of Financial Markets, Mutual Funds, and Derivatives. Prof. Edwin has worked with SBI Capital Markets, SBI Mutual Funds, SBI New York and the India Magnum Fund, a joint venture of Morgan Stanley Asset Management, USA. Prof. Edwin set up the leasing desk in SBI Capital Markets. As Systems Manager in SBI New York, he was responsible for implementing and managing CHIPS; the Electronic Payment Systems used by the Bank for handling electronic receipts and payments. Prof. Edwin was also responsible for implementing SWIFT, the highly secure telecommunication System used by all International banks and linking it to the bank’s branches in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Flushing. In SBI Mutual Fund Prof. Edwin was responsible for managing the dealing room as well as the back office of the India Magnum Fund, a privately placed US dollar denominated off shore Fund. India Magnum Fund is a joint venture with the Morgan Stanley Asset Management, New York, USA.
Prof. Edwin also worked as a consultant to Inter Commercial Bank Ltd, Trinidad with a responsibility to test and implement the banking application offered by the Prologic Corporation, Vancouver, Canada.
Prof. Edwin has conducted corporate training programs in the areas of Financial Markets, Derivatives, International Payment Systems, and Analysis of Financial Statements etc. for a number of companies that include: IBM, EDS, Deutsche Bank, Perot Systems etc.
Prior to joining ALLIANCE, Prof. Edwin was Professor of Finance at St. Joseph’s College of Business Administration, Bangalore for a period of 10 years which included a term of 4 years as Dean Academics.
