Emerging Economies: A Case Study of India
ALLIANCE – International Summer Program focuses on Emerging Economies: A Case Study of India. This program is a unique blend of business and cultural offering for international students. It provides an opportunity to undertake a demanding in-depth study of India as an Emerging Economy. The program is complemented by an extensive cultural activities and visits to various business organizations.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU), Silberman College of Business and Alliance Business School jointly offer an International Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program.
This course will provide students with an overview of key trends, opportunities and challenges of doing business in India. The program highlights different sectors of Indian economy and offers insight into multidisciplinary areas such as business, economics, information technology, marketing, human resource management and finance.
COMPANY VISITS
The program offers visits to several leading companies. The companies are selected very carefully to ensure enriching learning experience, combining theory and practice. The visits cover companies from wide sectors such as Information Technology, Manufacturing, Automobile, etc.
CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
The program includes a multitude of cultural and social activities. The students are provided with a guided tour of Bangalore and two weekend trips to Mysore and Belur- Halebid.
Mysore, the city of palaces, is a popular travel destination in South India. In addition to the magnificent Mysore Palace, Brindavan Garden and Chamundi Hill temple, the city also offers the rich aroma of filter coffee, traditional carvings on fragrant sandalwood, rosewood, ivory and rich silks scarves.
The twin temple towns of Belur and Halebid, a glimpse of Hindu temple art at its glorious best, are eloquence in stone. The facades are richly decorated with intricate stone carvings and the interiors are filled with countless filigreed pillars and friezes depicting tales from the Ramayana and the Mahabarata. On the way to this heritage place, another must-see place is Sravanabenagola which has 18 metres high monolithic sculpture of Jain saint Gomateswara. The sculpture is on the hilltop and can be reached by climbing 635 steps.
